Telecommunications Corporation (LIBTELCO) Goes Online!

Liberia, January 23, 2009 - Liberia Telecommunications Corporation
(LIBTELCO) makes its re-entry into the communications market
on Friday January 23, 2009. The trial phase which will run
from January 23 to February 28, 2009 will offer fixed wireless,
fax and Internet services to institutions of government and
the business sector: while March 1, 2009 has been set as the
date of commencement for commercial operations to the general
public.
Services
offered at the upcoming launch will include:
- Fixed
Wireless phones for the office and home,
- Internet
- Fax
LIBTELCO
will be reinstating the 02 prefix used by Telecom in the past.
In
this first phase, the coverage area for LIBTELCO's advance
technology CDMA 2000 1x EVDO Network will include Central
Monrovia; Bushrod Island; Paynesville; RIA; and Harbel.
LIBTELCO's
new management is committed to expanding the scope of its
coverage area in the second phase to be announced. The management
remains determined to make communication services reliable,
affordable and available to every Liberian; thus, bringing
added value to communications in Liberia.
